Important points of the day 

  • The current Parliament was designed by Edwin Luther’s in 1912-1913 . The Parliament was opened on 8 January 1927 by the then  Viceroy of India,  Lord Irwin . New Parliament will be going to built and investment is Rs. 861.9 cr and building will built till 2022 in triangular shape. 
  • The Bangladesh Government granted permission to India so as to export Hilsa fish . Hilsa fish is also the state symbol of West Bengal. 
  • Hilsa fish is also called as King of fish or Ilish fish or National fish.
  • This fish is categorised as Threatened species under the IUCN red list .
  • Natural Habitat – Sundarbans is the natural habitat of the fish . Apart from it , the fish also found in Godavari river of Andhra Pradesh. 
  • About IBSA (India, Brazil and South Africa)                                                                  IBSA was established in June 2003 and 1st IBSA Summit held on 13 September 2006 in Brasilia , Brazil . IBSA is a forum that brings together India,Brazil and South Africa  which are the three large democracies and major economics from three different continents . The trio is also facing similar challenges.

The analysis shows that pre-pandemic most countries had made steady progress in building human capital of children, with the biggest strides made in low-income countries. 
  • The Kosi Mega Bridge line project was sanctioned by the Government of India during 2003-04. The Kosi Rail Mahasetu is 1.9km long .
