Important points 
The International Red Panda Day (IRPD) is celebrated on 19 September every year to raise public awareness and support for red panda conservation issues . The first international red Panda day was celebrated on 18th September 2010. The panda or lesser panda or the red bear-cat has reddish-brown fur, a long, shaggy tail, and a waddling gait due to its shorter front legs; it is roughly the size of a domestic cat, though with a longer body, and is somewhat heavier.
