What is World Osteoporosis Day ?
World Osteoporosis Day (WOD) is held worldwide on October 20. This day is celebrated around the world to raise awareness of the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis and metabolic bone diseases. WOD is organized by the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) and is launching a year-long campaign on a specific topic. WOD strives to reach out to healthcare professionals, the media, policymakers, patients and the general public, making osteoporosis and fracture prevention a global health priority.
